Jr. High Ministry
(Jr. P.Y.R.O.'s)
Meets Thursday Nights 7:00 PM at the Church
The Jr. High group at Calvary Chapel of Phelan meets on Thursday nights at the church; youth from 6th to 8th grade are encouraged to attend. Included during our time together is worship with the High School group and then a separate Bible study geared especially for junior high level.
Teachers are Jordan and Renee Doty, both Bible College graduates. They share God's Word with enthusiasm and fresh insight. Prayer is included in our time together and we usually end with playing a game. Our hearts desire is to show our young people that it is exciting to study the Bible and that we can have fun together in a wholesome Christian environment. Our group also supports a missionary in India, who we have nicknamed, "Perry"!
Our group occasionally serves Sunday dinner at the Grace Rescue Mission in Phelan; the youth are always blessed when they can go and serve the needy in our community. In early November we spend a weekend at Fall Camp and the youth come back with awesome testimonies of how God touches their hearts during this weekend away.
We also offer mid-week home studies for the Jr. PYRO's, which give them a chance to grow in their walk with the Lord and establish closer friendships with their peers. The Bible study for boys is led by Jeremiah Mendoza, and is held on Wednesday nights at 7:00PM. For location and more information call Jeremiah at (760) 868-6953.
